South Africans have communicated shock following the affirmed assault of a seven-year-old young lady in an eatery latrine.
A 20-year-old man supposedly took after her into the ladies’ bathroom before grabbing her and assaulting her in the men’s segment, police said.
The suspect was captured at the scene and accused of assault and having drugs. He has been remanded in care and has not yet been requested to argue.
South Africa has one of the most elevated frequencies of assault on the planet.
The police recorded 40,035 assaults in the a year prompting 31 March, a normal of 110 every day, the reality checking association Africa Check says.
This is a slight increment on the earlier year, which saw 39,828 recorded assaults.
