SP Traffic Rural, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah disclosed to Rising Kashmir that the thruway stayed shut because of snow gathering and avalanches on Thursday.

“There are in excess of 5000 stranded vehicles on the interstate. The most extreme vehicles lie stranded from the Jammu side of the thruway,” he said.

Shah said it was exceptionally disastrous that individuals had been stuck on the parkway and were confronting issues yet visit avalanches and persistent snowfall had made the vehicular development troublesome.

The authorities at the Ramban unit of the Traffic division revealed to Rising Kashmir that in excess of 1845 vehicles including trucks, oil tankers and traveler vehicles are stuck at Udhampur extend, 65 oil tankers at Batote and 10 trucks and 15 light vehicles at Ramban region.

“The greater part of the vehicles are stranded at Udhampur. Around 52 traveler vehicles at stuck at Udhampur and Batote,” the authority said.

He stated, starting at now, the amassed snow had not been cleared yet, as the consistent snowfall had hampered snow leeway work.

“The travelers who have been stuck at Udhampur extend have been moved to the Ramban showcase,” the authority said.

As indicated by the authorities, around 1015 trucks lie stranded at Flata, 250 trucks at Mansar street while 130 trucks and 250 oil tankers are stranded at Dhar street.

Likewise, 15 trucks are stranded at Jhakeni chowk in Udhampur and 20 light vehicles and 100 trucks are stuck in different regions.

The authority stated, on Thursday, four avalanches hit the expressway at Anokhi fall, Panthyal, Gangroo, and Battery Chashma that obstructed the interstate.
