Pioneers of different standard gatherings Saturday visited the Martyr’s cemetery and paid praise to 22 Kashmiris who were killed by the powers of then Dogra ruler, Maharaja Hari Singh on July 13, 1931.

National meeting president and MP, Farooq Abdullah drove the gathering in paying flower tributes at saints’ burial ground at Khwaja Bazar here.

Tending to the gathering functionaries and laborers, Farooq said the occurrence of 1931 was the zenith of the developing turmoil in the general population against the oppressor and the dictator.

“The saints gave their life for verifying pride and confidence of their comrades. Kashmir had never seen a strong upsurge until 1931, a significant takeoff from the customary unemotionalness,” he said including since its commencement the gathering has symbolized the penance of the saints of 1931.

Farooq said powers unfriendly to J&K’s unique sacred position will attempt their level best to enlarge the shared strain in the state.

“Anyway the incomparable penance the 1931 saints will keep on motoring us in our battle against bad form,” he said.

Afterward, conversing with correspondents, Farooq said Satya Pal Malik is BJP’s Governor. “How might he come here?”

He was reacting to an inquiry regarding Governor Malik skirting authority work at saints’ cemetery.

NC general secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, senior pioneers Dr Sheik Mustufa Kamal, Abdul Rahim Rather, Nasir Aslam Wani, Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, Hasnain Masoodi, Ali Muhammad Dar, Pirzada Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Syed Akhoon and other gathering functionaries additionally paid tributes to saints.

On 13 July 1931, 22 individuals were executed in terminating by the powers of the then Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh. July 13 is seen as state occasion.
