RAWALPINDI: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres approached Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday, the military’s media wing said in an announcement.
During the gathering, matters of common interests, the general territorial security circumstance including the issues of Afghan evacuees, Afghan compromise procedure and Kashmir question were talked about.
Guterres during his discussion with Gen Bajwa “expressed gratitude toward Pakistan for full access given to United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) in Kashmir”, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) official statement said.
It included that the UN boss likewise said that there is a need to execute UN goals on the Kashmir issue.
Guterres indeed recognized Pakistan’s commitment to UN peacekeeping missions and “phenomenal accomplishments in counter-psychological oppression”.
As indicated by the announcement, he praised the improved security situation in Pakistan and the country’s efforts towards regional peace and stability.
Gen Bajwa during the meeting remarked that Pakistan is committed to achieving “a stable, peaceful and normalised Pakistan”.
Guterres on Monday also held a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
