As Santana, Rivera immediately turned into a fan most loved character on Glee. The harshly toned team promoter introduced herself as somebody overflowing with swagger. Santana’s relationship with individual team promoter Brittany, turned into a standard for the arrangement, and an excellent case of LGBTQ+ portrayal on TV when the medium wasn’t known for its inclusivity. Off screen, Rivera advocated the couple and the fans who upheld them. In a May 2011 meeting with the Los Angeles Times, the on-screen character stated, “Truly, I never thought I’d really be playing a high schooler lesbian. I didn’t think it would go this far. In any case, I’m happy that it did, on the grounds that there have been a ton of fans who have communicated that they’ve been experiencing comparable circumstances in their lives. I’ve gotten notification from young ladies that are in secondary school, they’re 16, 17, and they’re similar to, ‘I came out to my mother,’ or ‘I came out to my companions, and thank you for helping me do that.'”
